Religion is a Conspiracy. Monday. 1.19.04 8:21 pm Disclaimer: This is not meant to offend any of my fellow Christian, Jewish or (put religion here) friends out there. This is just my opinion on the matter. I think religion is the biggest conspiracy. Ok, the Greek had their Gods, as well as the Romans, the Native Americans and the Egyptians. So don’t shoot me for saying this, but I think all of these “Gods” and legends started off as stories for bored children. As time went by, and little kids progressed smarter, the adults made everything more believable by making sacrifices to these fabricated Gods, to keep kids out of trouble. As these sacrifices became more real, the people used this as means to control other people. I think religion is just another form of brainwashing, but the point behind the whole initiative deteriorated as time went on. So nobody really knows why there is God, other than the fact that He is someone to pray and worship to in times of need or boredom. Now that I think about it, religion is really just a piece of crap. So I’m sitting here, browsing the forums, and I come across this religious thread. Now person 1 is talking about Christianity and slaves and how they jumble together or something. (It confuses me after going back and re-reading it) So person 2 replies, and starts to ramble about if there was no religion, we would all be doomed, as we know it, we are not God’s slaves- we just perform for Him, and that religion is what keeps us alive-- Religion is the balance of life and death supposedly. What an idiot, go read a history book. Besides the Black Plague, it was religious differences that killed tens of thousands of people back in the day. I.e.- St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, the cancellation of Edict of Nantes, and the Holocaust. For crying out loud, if there were no such idea as religion, so many more people would be alive. Not dead. Okay, so now we have several different stories, each teaching children to kill other children who believe a different story. Nice going, God… you rock. So if there really were a God, with predestination in mind, why do innocent people die? See? There is no reasonable explanation. There is no way to prove we had lives before our present that carried sin in our blood. Even if there were, wouldn’t we be starting over? Instead of dying of cancer or some other incurable sickness God hasn’t yet created a cure for? So how come God could talk to people such as Joan of Arc back in the medieval times? Why did He make way for Moses? Now days, if people claim to be connected with God, or witnessed an ocean of water to separate at their will, they are claimed crazy. Lets take this all to the next step and follow person 1’s idea, God is real, but He’s a freaking slave driver. He wants everyone to do as He says, or else they die. Even within the people who do as He says, if He doesn’t like them, they’ll get a deadly disease that can’t be cured, and they die anyway. “Oh no! Don’t piss God off, or He’ll kill your cousin’s best friend’s brother’s sister in law’s secretary’s nephew, just because he’s ugly.” Oh, I forgot, God doesn’t kill. He commands other people to kill. “God sent me to kill this man, I swear under the oath of Eden!” I don’t like God. He’s an ass. Here comes a Courtland-style question: Is He really an ass? Or is this just a figment of your imagination? Shut up Courtland, of course he’s an ass. So let’s get back to my idea, God’s dead again, there’s no such thing, and religion of all sorts is a conspiracy. On to the Holy Bible, I’ve read about how throughout time, popes and priests changed words of the Bible, just because they didn’t like the way God thought, or wrote, or whatever. So even if there were such a creation as God and religion, no one would ever know the true meaning, because some jackass in the past decided to change the words around to suit his fancy. So maybe at one time, all of this religious business could’ve actually meant something. So knowing that head of churches changed the words of “God”, they have proved me right.
