A thought. Wednesday. 4.21.04 7:27 am I have a huge family. For each family reunion, there are always at least 30 tables to seat 10 people. Each of the tables are always separated into 4 groups: the kid, the teens, the adults and the elderly. For the first 11 or 12 years of my life, I spent my time at the kid tables. It was fun until I turned 8 or so. As I was getting older, I wanted to sit at the teen table. I idolized my older cousins. I thought they were were God-- or something like it. To me, they were all smart, cool and funny. I wanted to be just like that. When I turned 13, I started o have more common interests with my cousins. By the next famly gathering, I was sitting at the table I had longed to sit at for so long. But I realized the cousins I wanted so much to be like an sit at the same table with were all sitting at the adult tables. They all had jobs and were getting proposals, getting married, and having kids. Oh, and those really weird cousins I had to sit with at the kid table? ;-) Yeah, they came with me. Now we're all waiting until we're ready to go to the adult table to join our older cousins. I figure that if all the cousins my age and I look up to our older cousins, then there are kids in a younger generation who look up to us.
